Arlen Wilcox

Associate Director, Trials Development

Arlen is an accomplished clinical trialist who has made significant contributions to the design, development, and execution of large-scale research initiatives in the industry. Arlen currently works as Clinical Trials Program Manager within the CTC, where his role includes leading the expansion of novel and adaptive trial methodology projects within the centre. His commitment to maximising research efficiency through precision operations and fit-for-purpose design has positioned him as a leader within the sector.

In addition to his duties at the CTC, Arlen is dedicated to educating and fostering the next generation of clinical trialists. He holds an Adjunct Lecturer position within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales and contributes to the development of national research frameworks as Co-Chair of the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) Adaptive Platform Trials Operations working group, a member of the ACTA Innovative Designs working group, and member of the Australian Trial Methodologists (AusTriM).

Prior to joining the CTC, Arlen held various research management roles at The George Institute for Global Health, the Medical Research Council Clinical Trials Unit at University College London, the Kirby Institute at the University of New South Wales, and in the commercial medical device sector.

Arlen's comprehensive research acumen spans all phases of clinical trials, as well as observational and implementation research, across a diverse range of therapeutic areas and types of intervention and treatment modalities, establishing Arlen as a demonstrated leader within clinical trials, and trials related research.
