Dr Daniel O'Hara

PhD Candidate

Dr Daniel O’Hara is a nephrologist (kidney specialist) and clinical researcher undertaking a PhD with the University of Sydney and the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre.

Daniel's research interests include initiatives to provide people living with chronic disease, such as diabetes and chronic kidney disease, with a more consistent and high-quality standard of care. The pursuit of this goal includes working closely with patients as key stakeholders in new research initiatives, developing programs to provide patient education and long-term support, investigating new medications and technologies that could improve long term health and wellbeing outcomes, and exploring strategies to improve the equity of healthcare in Australia and internationally.

He has twice been awarded the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Jacquot Research Entry Scholarship for his research.
