Dr. Jessica Dawson joined the CTC in 2021 and is a research fellow in Kidney Health. Jess was awarded her PhD in the same year, focused on the impact and feasibility of eHealth interventions in chronic kidney disease.

Jess has a broad range of research experience including systematic reviews, qualitative research, observational cohort studies and randomised controlled trials.  Jess was a finalist for Young Investigator of the Year with the Australia and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (2020). In addition to journal publications, she has contributed to textbook chapters and is involved in teaching at the Renal Nutrition Program, an Australian designed teaching program to upskill dietitians in renal medicine and medical nutritional therapy.

Jess is a senior renal dietitian at St George Hospital where she has specialised in the management of people commencing Conservative Kidney Management. She led the development of world first practice-based nutrition guidelines for this population and has led studies evaluating the impact of health literacy, frailty, malnutrition, and symptom burden on patient outcomes.
