Dr Katharina Bell

Senior Lecturer and Clinical Lead Ophthalmology

Dr. Katharina Bell is an Ophthalmologist and Clinician Scientist. She is Senior Lecturer and Clinical Lead Ophthalmology at the CTC. Katharina obtained her medical degree in Mainz, Germany, where she also underwent her training in Ophthalmology. She gained Clinical Trial experience working in the Clinical Trial Centre of the Department of Ophthalmology in Mainz covering trials in various ophthalmologic indications. Katharina's basic research is focused on understanding the role of ageing in glaucoma.

Katharina performed her post-Doc in Madrid and then performed a Clinical Research Fellowship as SERI in Singapore. Both her basic and clinical research interests are focused on understanding the relevance of ageing and lifestyle in various ophthalmological diseases, with a focus on glaucoma.
