Our research fellows provide academic and clinical expertise for particular areas of research or specific projects.

Howard Chan

Mustafa Khasraw is a senior research fellow and clinical lead for the Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO) and he is also involved in numerous collaborative research projects across different tumour streams

Nicky Lawrence is a medical oncologist who trained in Auckland, New Zealand. Nicky has an interest in genitourinary malignancies and will be working as a research fellow for the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP) and is also a PhD candidate.

Katrin Sjoquist provides academic and clinical support in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials in collaboration with investigator groups. She undertakes specific research projects, including methodological and clinical research in areas of cancer.

Subotheni Thavaneswaran is a clinical research fellow with an  interest in treating and looking after patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. She is involved in research that addresses questions arising from the rapidly changing molecular subtyping of lung cancers. 

Annette Tognela is a graduate of the University of Sydney, originally from Perth. She is a clinical research fellow with the Australasian Lung Cancer Trials Group (ALTG), a medical oncologist at Campbelltown Hospital and a senior lecturer in medical oncology at the University of Western Sydney.

Sonia Yip provides scientific expertise in development of translational and biological studies for clinical trials, working closely with five Australasian oncology collaborative groups.
